Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Position Overview
The Strategic Finance Partner will be a key member of PEL’s leadership team, driving financial strategy, sustainability, and impact measurement. This role is more than just finance management—it is about shaping business growth, ensuring long-term viability, and unlocking new funding opportunities in line with our vision for Africa’s sustainable energy future.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Financial Planning & Management
    • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with PEL’s growth roadmap and impact goals.
    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to maximize ROI and operational efficiency.
    • Build and monitor KPIs for financial performance, sustainability, and impact delivery.
  2. Business Partnering
    • Work closely with the CEO and leadership to evaluate business models, product profitability, and market expansion opportunities.
    • Provide financial insights that inform strategic decisions and support innovation in products and services.
    • Collaborate with operations, sales, and R&D to align financial planning with business objectives.
  3. Capital Raising & Investor Relations
    • Lead efforts to secure equity, grants, and blended finance funding.
    • Manage relationships with investors, donors, and financial institutions.
    • Prepare investment cases and impact reports for stakeholders.
  4. Risk Management & Compliance
    • Identify financial and operational risks, recommending mitigation measures.
    • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and reporting standards.
    • Implement internal controls for transparency and accountability.
  5. Sustainability & Impact Finance
    • Design and integrate sustainability metrics into financial models.
    • Explore green financing instruments, carbon credits, and climate-smart investment opportunities.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  2. Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CFA) is an added advantage.
  3. At least 2 years in strategic finance roles, preferably in energy, agritech, or impact-driven sectors.
  4. Proven track record in financial strategy, capital raising, and business modeling.
  5. Experience working with donor-funded projects or blended finance models is a plus.
